Planning & Booking

  • Purchase Tickets Online in Advance: This will save you time and potentially money. SkyWorlds often offers online discounts and bundles.
  • Check the Weather Forecast: Genting Highlands weather can be unpredictable. Pack layers and a waterproof jacket, as rain is common.
  • Download the Genting SkyWorlds App: The app provides park maps, show schedules, ride wait times, and other useful information.
  • Arrive Early: The park opens early, and arriving at opening time allows you to beat the crowds and enjoy rides with shorter wait times.
  • Plan Your Itinerary: Review the park map and show schedules beforehand to prioritise your must-see attractions.

During Your Visit

  • Wear Comfortable Shoes: You'll be doing a lot of walking and standing.
  • Stay Hydrated: Carry a water bottle or purchase drinks from the various food and beverage outlets.
  • Use the Single Rider Lines: If you're willing to ride separately from your group, single rider lines can significantly reduce wait times.
  • Take Advantage of the Photo Opportunities: SkyWorlds offers numerous photo opportunities with themed backdrops and characters.
  • Enjoy the Shows and Performances: The park features various live shows and performances throughout the day. Check the schedule and plan to attend those that interest you.
  • Be Prepared for Altitude: Genting Highlands is at a high altitude, which can affect some people. Take it easy and allow yourself time to acclimatise. We found it quite amusing to see the bags of crisps/chips inflated at the convenience store in Genting Highlands, a subtle reminder of the altitude and how high we were. It was a unique and memorable observation.
  • Be Mindful of Crowds: Especially during peak hours and weekends, the park can get crowded. Be patient and plan your activities accordingly.
  • Pack Light: Avoid carrying unnecessary items. A small backpack or cross-body bag is ideal.
  • Consider a Stroller/Wheelchair: If you're travelling with young children or have mobility issues, consider renting a stroller or wheelchair.

Food & Amenities

  • Explore the Dining Options: SkyWorlds offers a variety of dining options, from quick snacks to sit-down meals.
  • Utilise the Lockers: Lockers are available for rent to store your belongings. Certain rides at Genting SkyWorlds require the use of paid lockers for personal belongings. Tip: To maximise value, consider renting a locker for an extended period. When retrieving your items, simply indicate that you'll be returning, allowing you to reuse the same locker. Remember to note the locker number and location for easy access.
  • Use the Restrooms: Restrooms are located throughout the park.

Transportation

  • Genting Skyway: The cable car ride up to Genting Highlands is a scenic and popular option.
  • Bus or Taxi: If you're staying in Kuala Lumpur, buses and taxis are available.
  • Grab: Ride-sharing apps are also a very good option. For our journey from Kuala Lumpur Airport to Genting Highlands, we opted for a Grab ride. The app's user-friendly interface and reasonable fares made it an excellent choice. Additionally, the route offered stunning mountain views. We highly recommend this option for those with a flexible budget.

Additional Tips

  • Bring a Power Bank: Keep your phone charged for photos, navigation, and the app.
  • Get a Local SIM Card or eSIM: Stay connected with reliable internet access. For uninterrupted connectivity during your Malaysian travels, an eSIM/local SIM is essential, given the limited Wi-Fi availability. We opted for Maya Mobile, and it delivered exceptional performance, allowing us to navigate with ease and book transportation at our convenience. We strongly recommend this for a stress-free experience.
  • Check for Promotions: Look for special promotions or discounts before your visit.
  • Be Aware of Park Rules: Familiarise yourself with the park's rules and regulations.
  • Enjoy the experience! Genting SkyWorlds is designed to be a fun and immersive experience.
